Falam Keyboard

Introducing Falam Keyboard — for macOS and Windows

I’m excited to share Falam Keyboard, a custom keyboard layout built for typing Falam/Mizo (Chin) with ease on both Mac and Windows.

Falam Keyboard is a standard extended-Latin keyboard with one important addition: full support for the retroflex ṭ / Ṭ, a letter that’s central to Falam/Mizo orthography but missing from most default keyboard layouts. No more copy-pasting special characters or fighting with Unicode input — just type naturally.

What it does

  • Everything you’d expect from a normal English keyboard — nothing about your regular typing changes
  • Accented Latin letters (á é í ó ú, à è ì ò ù, â ê î ô û, ä ë ï ö ü, ã õ ñ) available via accent keys, so no extra software or input method is needed
  • Direct, one-key access to  and
  • Works completely offline — nothing is sent anywhere, nothing to configure
